At around 9 a.m., officers with the Algona, Pacific, and Auburn Police departments responded to reports of a domestic violence incident with shots being fired near 5th Avenue Northwest and Milwaukee Boulevard North.

Authorities arrived to a man in his late 30s firing a rifle and two victims at the scene who had been shot, according to Algona Police.

Algona Police Chief James Schrimpsher says officers shot the suspect and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 14-year-old boy and an 18-year-old woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The woman was released and the teen is still being treated for his injuries at Harborview.

All three are believed to be family members, Chief Schrimpsher said.
