Missing emu found in North Sound neighborhood

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — Update: The missing emu from AJ’s Acre, named Sarah, has been found. The bird was found in a backyard Saturday in a North Sound neighborhood.

The bird was reportedly yard hopping on a street where there were sightings in a Mukilteo neighborhood.

Original story: The owners of AJ’s Acre in Everett are looking for a missing emu that escaped from their farm near Alexander Road and the Mukilteo Speedway.

The owners said someone cut a portion of fencing Wednesday night, allowing three of their emus to escape.

Two were captured, but one is still missing. The missing emu was seen walking around in a Mukilteo neighborhood.

Animal control has been notified.

Anyone who sees the bird is warned not to approach or attempt to catch it and should give animal control a call.
