Group of burglars steal drugs from Shoreline pharmacy

SHORELINE, Wash. — The King County Sheriff’s Office said a group of people broke into a pharmacy in Shoreline and stole narcotics last week.

On Oct. 22 at 12:51 a.m., a burglar alarm sounded at the store in the 600 block of Northwest Richmond Beach Road. There is a Rite Aid in that area.

A deputy arrived and saw that the front doors of the store appeared to have been pried open. He called for backup for a building search, but deputies found no one inside.

Investigators found the pharmacy door inside the store was also pried open with similar damage to what was done to the front door. A store manager arrived soon after to help deputies review the store’s security footage.

The footage showed that at around 12:44 a.m., three people gathered outside the front door of the store. One person was seen using a tool to pry open the front door. Once the door was open, all three went into the building, and then a fourth person appeared and ran in after them.

A camera in the pharmacy showed the burglars pulling drug baskets out of a narcotics cabinet and throwing bottles into a bag. All of them were wearing gloves and hooded sweatshirts with the hoods pulled up.

Deputies said they found an empty Oxycontin bottle outside the pharmacy.

Anyone who can identify the burglars or has information about the burglary is asked to call the King County Sheriff’s Office at 206-296-3311 and refer to case #C21033549.
