GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — The founders of the Gorge Amphitheatre are building two new venues in the area.
“Two new venues. One visionary cultural campus. A global stage for the arts and sciences,” the website reads.
The Hilltop, a nonprofit founded by Vince and Carol Bryan, has hired Portland-based ZGF Architects to design ‘The Grotto, ’ which will be a 1,200-seat indoor performance venue about a mile south in Quincy.
“We are thrilled to partner with Vince and Carol and The Hilltop on their extraordinary vision for a landmark arts and cultural destination above the Columbia,” said Haruka Saito, Principal, ZGF. “It’s an incredible honor to help bring their vision to life and deliver a venue that will celebrate the arts, the environment, and the community for generations.”
A second space, called ‘The Terraces,” is planned for next door. It will be a 2,000-seat outdoor venue overlooking the Columbia River Gorge.
Concept design for The Grotto is now underway.
The Hilltop is also preparing for its inaugural fundraising event called SOAR Festival 2026. The event is on August 22 and begins at 6 p.m.
The event will feature dinner and performances by acclaimed producer, composer, and songwriter David Foster & Friends, acclaimed vocalist and Broadway performer Katharine McPhee, and the Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra – with special appearances by Broadway veteran and celebrated Northwest stage actress Mari Nelson, and Alexander Kilian of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar.’
