Girl injured in fatal Midland hit-and-run is at home recovering

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — The friend of Immaculee Goldade has been released from the hospital and is at home recovering after Saturday’s tragic hit-and-run collision.

Kathleen Olson went out walking with her 12-year-old friend Immaculee when they were struck by a white pickup truck.

The girls were facing traffic while walking on the shoulder of 104th Street East, several doors down from where Immaculee Goldade lived.

Immaculee was found dead and her friend Kathleen was injured and rushed to the hospital.

“This truck didn’t just accidentally swerve off the road,” said John Goldade, Immaculee’s father. “But I’m not saying he did it on purpose. But it was all the way in the ditch. I mean this was complete carelessness.”

Kathleen’s mother, Rachel Olson, told KIRO 7 on Sunday night that her daughter just got home and “She is expecting to make a full recovery. They were holding hands at the time of the crash.”

KIRO 7 was told a candlelight vigil is being planned and could occur Monday for Immaculee.

John Goldade is pleading for the driver who fled the scene to turn themselves in.

Investigators have already found the truck that was involved in the collision and are working to find the driver.
