Four adults, child rescued near Goldmyer Hot Springs area

Four adults and a child were rescued Tuesday from the Goldmyer Hot Springs area north of Snoqualmie Pass.

The adults and the child parked their truck at Dingford Creek trailhead Monday and hiked 6 miles to the Goldmyer Hot Springs area. They left around 7:30 p.m. Monday to head back to their truck.

On Tuesday, the King County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from concerned family members after they had not returned home Monday night as planned.

“There was significant snowfall overnight which would have made driving out of that area in a vehicle nearly impossible,” Sgt. Ryan Abbott said.

About 4:15 p.m. Tuesday the adults and child were found by the Sheriff’s Office in coordination with King County Search and Rescue. They were in their truck waiting to be rescued.

“They had been trapped by the snow and cell phones don’t work in that area,” Abbott said in a statement. “The vehicle had a full tank of gas so they were able to stay warm along with food and water. Thankfully, no injuries to anyone involved.”
