Firefighters battle fire involving 30-40 cars at Kent wrecking yard

KENT, Wash. — Puget Sound Fire crews battled a large fire at a wrecking yard in Kent involving dozens of cars.

Firefighters were called to the 26100 block of 78th Ave. S. at 4 a.m. Tuesday.

The fire involved 30-40 vehicles in a pile.

The fire is now out. A hazardous material team is monitoring any runoff from the cars.

The cause is under investigation.
