Firefighter rappels down into deep hole to rescue dog

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Wash. — Firefighters in Jefferson County helped rescue a dog that fell down a hole that was about 25 feet deep.

The Brinnon Fire Department stated that owners reported their dog Indie missing Sunday night.

Brinnon Fire Department responded with Quilcene Fire Rescue, Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to help in the search and rescue.

During the search, Indie was heard from the hole.

On Monday, crews pumped in fresh air down the hole, and firefighter Tye Seeley rappelled down the hole.

Seeley assessed Indie for injuries, secured her and brought her up.

The fire department stated Indie is now home, safe and doing well.
