EvergreenHealth’s DeYoung Pavilion was evacuated Thursday due to reports of a security concern, Kirkland Police tweeted.
According to police, initial reports were that a staff member saw a patient with a piece of a gun.
The staff member contacted security who contacted police. It was later confirmed that the staff member had seen the barrel of a gun, but not a complete gun.
The hospital’s alarm sounded for a full-scale evacuation of the building. Police talked with the patient and confirmed there was no gun involved.
Roadways around the hospital were closed down at the time but have since reopened.
