One arrested after gunshot from next door unit kills man at Everett apartment complex

EVERETT, Wash. — The Everett Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting at an apartment complex.

At about 1 a.m. on Thursday, officers were called to the Erwin Estates Apartments in the 8200 block of 11th Drive West, next to State Route 526 or the Boeing freeway.

Officers found a severely injured man in his 40s with apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Officers saw that there appeared to be bullet holes coming from a shared wall in the victim’s apartment, according to Everett police.

Police spoke with the suspect, a man in his 40s, who lives in a unit adjacent to the victim’s apartment.

Police said they saw two guns inside his apartment.

The man was later booked into the Snohomish County Jail for second-degree murder.
