Everett crash causes 7-mile backup, 40-minute delays on southbound I-5

EVERETT, Wash. — A crash is causing a seven-mile backup and a 40-minute delay on southbound I-5 between Arlington and Everett.

The crash occurred in the left lane of southbound I-5 before Marine View Drive. The left lane was blocked approaching the Snohomish River Bridge in Everett before crews cleared it just before 8 a.m. Thursday.

“The crash was about a mile north of Everett, but the backup extended to before Tulalip Outlet Mall,” KIRO Newsradio traffic reporter Chris Sullivan stated.
