SEATTLE — A 32-year-old man is dead after a hit-and-run collision in the Lake City neighborhood Friday night.
Jesse Gurnett originally taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and died a day later, family members told KIRO 7 on Wednesday.
He was always smiling and everything," co-worker Blake Westphal told KIRO 7's Linzi Sheldon. "He honestly just made me more happy every time I saw him."
The crash happened at Northeast 127th Street and Lake City Way. Gurnett was crossing the street when hit. There is a crosswalk at the the intersection but it is not known if the pedestrian used the crosswalk.
The driver was taken into custody shortly after, according to police.
