Driver shot after chasing another car, deputies say

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — A woman is recovering after being shot Friday night in South Hill.

Deputies were called to the 12700 block of Meridian Street after someone called 911 to report a woman had arrived at a convenience store, saying she had been shot.

When deputies arrived, they administered first aid until medics arrived and took the victim to the hospital.

During the investigation, deputies determined that the shooting had occurred in the 13100 block of 86th Avenue East, where they found evidence, including several shell casings.

Witnesses told deputies that the woman was chasing another car before the shooting, officials said.

However, it is not yet known what led up to the shooting.

Investigators are working to track down the shooter(s).
