Driver hits patrol vehicle, injures Renton officer

RENTON, Wash. — A Renton officer is recovering from an injury after their patrol vehicle was struck by a car on early Sunday.

The collision happened at about 3:55 a.m. at South Second Street and Main Avenue South.

The officer was taken to the hospital and should be OK, police said.

The driver of the vehicle fled on foot. However, their passenger did not flee.

A K-9 was used to track the driver of the vehicle, but the person has not been found.

The incident is under investigation.
