LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies said they are searching for a 24-year-old man who fled the scene of a crash that injured two people about 8 a.m. Wednesday in Lynnwood.
The crash closed down Larch Way near 178th Street Southwest.
Deputies said they attempted a traffic stop in another area, but the man sped away.
Police said the man swerved around a truck into oncoming traffic and crashed into a car. Then, the scene on foot, law enforcement said.
The people injured in the crash were transported to a nearby hospital, deputies said.
Martha Lake Elementary and Alderwood Middle School, which are in the area, were placed on modified lockdown as deputies searched for the man, law enforcement said.

Deputies said they were unable to track down the man using a K-9. Containment of the area was lifted.
There is no word on a suspect description.
