TACOMA, Wash. — A 28-year-old man was shot and killed Wednesday evening in Tacoma, police said.
Officers were called just before 5 p.m. to the 6400 block of South Yakima Avenue for a report of shots fired in the Department of Licensing parking lot with multiple shooters.
Police said several vehicles were seen leaving the area.
When officers arrived, they found several shell casings in the parking lot. Minutes later, police received a call that there was a gunshot victim in a black SUV at South 54th and South J. streets, and the callers removed a man from the vehicle and performed lifesaving measures, officials said.
Medics who arrived at the scene pronounced the man dead.
The investigation remains ongoing.
