KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. — A student at Central Washington University is in isolation and being tested for the novel coronavirus, according to a report Thursday night from the Kittitas County Public Health Department.
Officials said the student became ill and was seen at the university’s Student and Medical Counseling Clinic. The student recently traveled internationally to attend an event, which may have exposed them to the virus.
KCPHD officials said they are working closely with the university to ensure the student’s care and also said the campus remains safe.
The test has been sent to the Washington State Department of Health Laboratory and the results are expected to be made available within 48 to 72 hours, according to officials.
The student is expected to remain in isolation until test results are confirmed.
