CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN, Wash. — Crystal Mountain is offering free lift tickets to furloughed federal employees due to the partial government shutdown.

The offer is set to start Thursday, Jan. 17, and offers furloughed employees a free weekday lift or gondola ride ticket

“We realize that many federal employees are caught in the middle of the battle that’s going on in D.C. and we’d like to invite them up to the mountains for a day of skiing or snowboarding on us as a show of gratitude for their service,” Frank DeBerry, president and COO of Crystal Mountain, said.

Officials at the ski resort said the offer ends Feb. 1 or when the government shutdown ends, depending on which happens first.  Also, the offer is not valid Jan. 19-21 or Jan. 26-27.
