Crews spent Tuesday afternoon putting out separate brush fires across Western Washington.
Just before 2:30 p.m., Medina police said a downed power line caused a small brush fire at the intersection of 80th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 10th Street. Crews had to close the roadways.
The Lewis County Sheriff's Office said a brush fire had burned about 80 acres. The DNR is investigating the fire.
Pierce County Firefighters tweeted after 3 p.m. that crews were battling a 3-acre brush fire in the 2300 block of 276th Street East.
In Graham, crews extinguished a brush fire that started as a small burn pile and quickly got out of control.
At about 3:30 p.m., firefighters worked to stop a brush fire in the 3200 block of 118th Avenue Southeast near the Mercer Slough. Crews got the fire under control.
Before 4:30 p.m., South Kitsap Fire and Rescue officials said their crews were at a two-alarm brush fire near Beach Drive in the Burley area. About 1 to 2 acres had burned.
