SEATTLE, Wash. — A Washington State Trooper and a Seattle Department of Transportation employee were working on Interstate I-5 to block off the State Route 520 exit when a motor home collided with both vehicles Sunday morning, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson.
Johnson told KIRO 7 that emergency crews have blocked off the three left lanes of I-5 just north of downtown Seattle near Hamlin Street. Crews have also closed exit 168B to SR 520.
Johnson said the state trooper, who was in his car at the time of the crash, has been transported to Harbor View Medical Center for leg pain and a possible concussion.
The passenger of the motor home was transported to the hospital for a broken ankle, according to Johnson.
Johnson said no estimate is available for when the lanes will reopen, as state patrol is still investigating the crash.
The department said drivers should expect delays in the area and look for alternate routes.
