BUCKLEY, Wash. — If you get an email from the City of Buckley – give it a closer look.
According to the city, someone is sending out messages, pretending to be from the planning department.
“It references real-looking addresses in Buckley and claims your application is ready for final approval—but only after you pay an ‘outstanding filing fee,’ the city warned.
The email then asks you to reply for the amount and payment instructions.
“This is a scam. The City of Buckley does NOT request payment this way,” the city warned.
If you get one of these emails:
• Do not reply
• Do not click any links or send money
• Delete the email
• If you’re unsure, contact the City of Buckley Planning Department directly through their official website or phone number (not the one in the email)
