Woman, grandchildren injured after teen driver crashes into bus stop in Marysville

An SUV crashed into a bus stop Saturday afternoon in Marysville, injuring a woman, baby and girl.

The accident occurred at a bus stop at State Avenue and Grove Street shortly before 2 p.m.

The SUV, driven by a 14-year-old who was getting driving lessons from his dad, crashed into the bus stop, where a 60-year-old grandmother and her two grandchildren were seated on a bench, police said.

Police said the woman was holding her 1-year-old granddaughter and her 13-year-old granddaughter was sitting next to her. They were taken to a hospital.

The grandmother was transported with critical injuries, and her 1-year-old granddaughter was transported with non-life-threatening injuries. No word was given on the 13-year-old's injuries.

The driver of the SUV was not injured.

The driver stayed on the scene after the accident. Currently, Marysville police say there are no criminal charges.

Police are investigating.
