We wrap up the weekend with some clouds overhead. The rain showers from earlier today continue to die off and move away from western Washington. An upper-level low-pressure system is moving overhead, and this feature has helped keep the cloud deck persistent in some areas today. Temperatures tonight will drop to the mid-50s, and by tomorrow morning we will be tracking a bit more sunshine during the day.
An area of high pressure is forecast to build over the state on Monday and Tuesday. This will change the wind a bit and bring a more northerly breeze to the area for a few days. Monday’s weather looks nice, and there should be more sunshine to enjoy tomorrow.
As the high pressure builds on Tuesday, it looks like our temperatures will respond with a noticeable rise to over 80 degrees. Good news: that should only last for a day before we cool back to the mid 70s on Wednesday. The cool-down is due to the arrival of another weak front that may also trigger some isolated rain showers mid-week and beyond. Forecast models are not excited about a lot of rain with this system, and it looks like many places will stay dry despite the arrival of a mid-week cold front.
Bottom line: don’t expect much rain this coming week, but showers could begin to pop up on the radar by Wednesday. Watch for the roller coaster temperatures…. 70s tomorrow and 80s on Tuesday followed by 70s again on Wednesday.
The outlook for the first days of September hints at a return to some rain showers to the forecast with cool 70s for daytime high temperatures.
