SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office says a bomb squad discovered an active explosives lab inside a home near Martha Lake.

At approximately 2 p.m. Tuesday, South County Fire responded to a medical call on Lakeview Road in unincorporated Lynnwood.

While handling the medical call, firefighters made observations that led them to believe explosives were present inside the home.

They called for backup, so deputies from the sheriff’s office and the Washington State Patrol Region 2 Interagency Bomb Squad arrived.

Bomb technicians used a robot to go inside and discovered an active explosives lab.

A deputy obtained a search warrant, which was authorized by a judge, and the residence was searched.

Bomb technicians removed all explosives and precursor chemicals. The Sheriff’s Office further processed the scene and collected additional evidence.

“At this time, we do not believe there is any immediate danger to the public. This remains an active investigation,” the sheriff’s office said.
