Blue Angels set to take flight in Seattle; I-90 to remain open

SEATTLE — For the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic began, the Blue Angels are back in Seattle.

The Blue Angels, which are a part of the U.S. Navy, will be performing when the Boeing Seafair Air Show officially kicks off on Friday at 11:15 a.m.

The rest of us can catch the Blue Angels on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 3:05 p.m.

The Golden Knights, a parachute team that’s part of the U.S. Army, will also be performing at 11:15 a.m. on Friday, 11:55 a.m. on Saturday and noon on Sunday.

In past years, the I-90 bridge closed to traffic during the Blue Angels shows, causing slowdowns on other highways.

That changed in 2019, when the bridge stayed open to keep people moving.

It’ll stay that way this year.
