Bellevue police officer resigns one month after arrest during domestic disturbance

BELLEVUE, Wash. — An officer with the Bellevue Police Department has resigned following his July arrest in Redmond during a domestic disturbance involving a family member.

Officer David Wright, 48, was arrested at his home July 9 and was immediately placed on administrative leave.

In a blotter post following his arrest, police said Wright was “booked into jail for suspected crimes related to the domestic disturbance.”

His resignation comes after an internal investigation and takes effect immediately, Chief Mylett said Thursday.

Wright had been an officer with BPD since May 2017.
