Bellevue man arrested in ‘extremely disturbing’ child porn case

William Dobson, child pornography suspect

BELLEVUE, Wash. — A Bellevue police captain described the case of a 35-year-old man who was arrested on child porn charges as “extremely disturbing” for the amount and severity of the content found.

William Dobson was arrested for investigation of dealing and possessing child pornography following an investigation that started in mid-March.

While serving a search warrant in the 1800 block 129th Place Southeast, investigators said they found more than 1,000 child pornography pictures and videos on multiple electronic devices owned by Dobson.

“This case is extremely disturbing, both in the vast number of images and in the severity of the depictions,” Capt. Debbie Ingram said. “In this investigation alone, there are more than 800 minor victims. These children suffer tremendously in producing this material. They are victimized again every time the material is viewed. Our detectives did an outstanding job investigating and building this case against the suspect.”

The King County prosecutor charged Dobson with first-degree dealing in depictions of minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct and first-degree and possession of depictions of minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

He’s currently in the King County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail. His arraignment is scheduled for June 3.
