Apartment fire near Lynnwood displaces at least 6 residents

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — One man was injured and several residents were displaced after a fire at an apartment building near Lynnwood early Saturday, according to South County Fire.

Firefighters were called to a report of a fire at a one-story apartment building located north of Lynnwood in the 15300 block of Highway 99 at around 4:15 a.m.

Witnesses said flames were coming from an apartment located near the center of the building.

The apartment occupants had all evacuated the building by the time crews arrived, according to South County fire.

Firefighters reportedly had the fire under control within 20 minutes of arriving at the scene.

One man was transported to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Three apartments were damaged in the fire.

Support 7 and the Red Cross also responded to support at least six residents who were displaced as a result of the fire.

The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office is now investigating the cause of the fire.
