A viewer sent KIRO 7 News a video showing a scary moment when a plane was leaving for San Diego.
The video shows a large piece of metal paneling on the wing flapping and tearing off.
KIRO 7 News reached out to Alaska Airlines, who told us Flight 558 from Seattle to San Diego had what they call an unusual vibration on the left side of the plane soon after departure.
The plane, a Boeing 737-900ER, returned to the airport and landed safely.
No passengers were injured. Passengers were rebooked on another flight.
Lmao, no one gonna talk about this or is Twitter's algorithm giving me the runaround?

Alaska Airlines 588 had some sort of uh...loss of cowling on its number 1 engine, landed safely in SEA
Glad to see everyone's ok! pic.twitter.com/WXuwNf3w3K
According to Alaska Airlines, the cowling, part of the metal paneling covering the engine detached from the plane when it landed back at Sea-Tac.
The plane is temporarily out of service while a team with Alaska Airlines investigates.
