A fourth homicide suspect was arrested Wednesday by the Tacoma Police Department (TPD) for a case that is nearly two months old.
On Aug. 7 at approximately 2:03 a.m., TPD responded to the 2100 block of N 30th Street for reports of a shooting, the department announced.
As officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers began life-saving measures until the Tacoma Fire Department arrived.
Despite life-saving measures, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Suspect arrives at hospital with gunshot wound
During the investigation at the scene, officers were advised that an adult male arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound.
TPD determined that the male was connected to the shooting and developed probable cause for his arrest.
After the first suspect was cleared from the hospital, he was booked into the Pierce County Jail for first-degree murder and first-degree robbery.
The investigation continued, leading to the arrest of a second suspect on Aug. 12. The juvenile man was taken into custody without incident and booked into Remann Hall for first-degree murder.
The third suspect in the case was arrested on Aug. 18; an adult male who was booked into the Pierce County Jail for first-degree murder.
Detectives eventually developed probable cause to arrest a fourth suspect in connection with the homicide on Wednesday.
TPD detectives, assisted by the Special Investigations Unit and SWAT, took an adult male into custody in Kent without incident. The suspect was booked into Pierce County Jail for first-degree murder and first-degree robbery.
TPD noted that the investigation remains active and anyone with information is urged to contact the department.
