Several vehicles stolen from Lynnwood-area car lot after thieves take keys

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Snohomish County deputies are investigating a break-in at a Lynnwood-area car lot.

The burglary at ZAG Motors on Highway 99 near 156th Street Southwest was called in at around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday.

At least three vehicles were stolen after the thieves made off with the car lot’s keys.

Witnesses called the police when they saw one or two suspects breaking into the car lot’s office, where keys to the vehicles were stolen, according to deputies.

A deputy spotted one of the stolen vehicles, but the suspect driving it fled at a high rate of speed.

Police later learned that the brazen thieves weren’t satisfied with what they had stolen earlier.

At about 6:45 a.m., while detectives were still at the car lot, the suspects returned in a Jeep they had stolen from the lot earlier. One suspect then jumped out, got into a BMW and fled.

Detectives weren’t in the area of the car lot where the BMW was stolen, but a nearby security officer witnessed it happen.

No one has been arrested.
