BREMERTON, Wash. — A fight just two blocks from Bremerton High School escalated to gunfire Friday night, leaving three people wounded and multiple vehicles and homes damaged.
More than 10 shots were fired between Chester Avenue and Lincoln Avenue at approximately 10:41 p.m., according to Bremerton Police.
“Responding officers encountered a chaotic scene and located three young men suffering from gunshot wounds,” police stated in a news release Tuesday. “All were transported to the hospital and were discharged later that night.”
Fight at a home preceded shooting
A group of three to five people showed up at a home uninvited and started a fight, according to the release.
Investigators believe the suspects and victims know each other and that Friday night’s shooting was not a random attack.
Officers collected surveillance footage and recovered multiple bullet casings, bullet fragments, blood evidence, and DNA at the scene.
Authorities noted there is no probable cause to arrest anyone at this time.
Bremerton police ask residents to check cameras
Bremerton police are asking residents along Chester Avenue, Lincoln Avenue, or Ohio Avenue between 11th Street and 13th Street to check surveillance cameras for footage from Friday night between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Investigators are looking for a white sedan or a red SUV.
