SEATTLE — The Seattle Police Department said Tuesday that 354 sworn officers have not shown proof of COVID-19 vaccination by the department’s deadline.
On Wednesday, the department said that number was down to 292.
The city of Seattle adopted Washington’s mandate that all state employees be vaccinated by Oct. 18 or lose their jobs. Employees could also apply for religious or medical exemptions.
Monday, Oct. 4 was the last day employees could get their second Pfizer or Moderna dose or the single Johnson & Johnson vaccine and be fully vaccinated by the deadline.
The 292 represents 27% of sworn officers. 782 officers have provided proof of vaccination.
Updated data on employee COVID-19 vaccination status is now available. As of today, 292 sworn officers have not yet submitted proof of vaccination. https://t.co/6fUcAvYrOM
