GRAYS HARBOR COUNTY, Wash. — Two men were arrested after allegedly cutting 200 feet of telephone wire in Grays Harbor County on Saturday, causing more than $100,000 in damage.
Grays Harbor Sheriff’s Office (GHSO) deputies responded to reports of malicious mischief near Olympic Highway at milepost 4 early Saturday morning, GHSO announced.
Once deputies arrived, they located a vehicle parked along the side of the highway with two men inside it. Deputies noticed a large amount of cut communications wire next to the vehicle.
During the investigation, deputies determined that both men had cut down roughly 200 feet of telephone wire and dragged the wire down the highway away from its original location.
Both suspects were taken into custody and booked into the Grays Harbor County Jail for first-degree malicious mischief and second-degree theft.
GHSO noted that a preliminary estimate showed that more than $100,000 in damages may have been done.
