2 killed in head-on crash caused by distracted driver on SR 410 in Enumclaw

ENUMCLAW, Wash. — Washington State Patrol is investigating after two people were killed in a head-on crash on State Route 410 in Enumclaw on Friday afternoon.

According to WSP, two cars were involved in the crash and both of the people who died were in the same car. The other car was occupied only by the driver, who was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center.

A press memo from WSP later revealed that the crash was caused by the driver who was taken to Harborview reaching for his cell phone and swerving into oncoming traffic, hitting the other car with two people in it.

The driver, a 39-year-old Maple Valley man, is charged with distracted driving.

Troopers don’t suspect that the drivers were impaired.
