SEATTLE — A man and a young girl were taken to the hospital after sustaining injuries in a multivehicle crash on the I-5 southbound express lanes near downtown Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened around noon on the express lanes near Mercer Street. Medics responded to reports of a person trapped in one of the cars, and arrived to find the car pinned under a semitruck. The person was safely extracted.
A 45-year-old man and a 4-year-old girl were taken to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
Lanes were closed during the accident, but have since reopened.
