2 teens arrested in connection with homicide of 17-year-old Marysville boy, police say

MARYSVILLE, Wash. — Two teens were arrested Wednesday in connection with a 17-year-old Marysville boy who was shot and killed Tuesday night, police said.

Authorities said search warrants were served for the fatal shooting that happened at 8:48 pm in the 5800 block of 116th Street Northeast, where officers found a 17-year-old with a gunshot wound to his stomach area. He was taken to Providence Medical Center in Everett, where he later died during surgery.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested at his home without incident. A second boy, 17, was also arrested at his home.

Law enforcement said the suspects and the victim knew each other.

Both teen suspects were booked into the Denny Youth Center for investigation of second-degree murder.

Investigators said the firearm used in the fatal shooting has not been recovered.

Police are still asking anyone with surveillance cameras in neighborhoods north and south of Marysville Pilchuck High School to check their video footage for any suspicious activity involving males walking or running in the area between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
