1 killed in collision on I-90 near Snoqualmie Pass

SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. — A man was killed in a car crash on westbound Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie Pass on Friday evening, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Troopers say the collision happened just before 6 p.m. at milepost 52.

A driver was reportedly speeding and following the car in front of them too closely when they hit them.

The speeding car got stuck, but then dislodged and veered off the road before it struck a tree.

The driver of that car, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.

The driver of the other car was not injured.

The roadway was blocked for about an hour while troopers investigated.
