1 injured in two-car crash in Tacoma

TACOMA, Wash. — One person was injured in a two-car crash on Wednesday night in Tacoma, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Ryan Burke.

The collision happened at about 8:20 p.m. on State Route 509 and Interstate 705, shutting down SR 509.

Burke said one driver was taken to the hospital with a broken leg.

Another driver, a 40-year-old man, was taken into custody for investigation of vehicular assault, troopers said.

It is not yet known what led to the crash, but troopers are investigating.
