Investigators trying to determine cause of Kent laundry facility fire

KENT, Wash. — Investigators with the Kent Fire Department are trying to determine the cause of a large fire that began in a dumpster at a laundry storage facility fire and spread to three outbuildings.

Firefighters responded to a call for a dumpster fire around 3 a.m. Thursday at Aramark Uniform Services Address located at 7810 S 228th Street.

Arriving crews quickly called out for more back-up after the began to spread to some plastic totes full of laundry and to three outside storage areas where laundry is brought.  Crews had to call in a snorkel truck to spray water and dump foam on the blaze.

By 5 a.m.,  firefighters remained on scene pulling piles of laundry apart and making sure the fire was completely out. The main industrial laundry building belonging to Aramark, was not damaged during the fire.

There were no injuries.
