EVERETT, Wash. — Everett police are asking for help in identifying an arsonist who torched a high-performance auto shop on Rucker Avenue late Sunday night.
The business owner, Michael Horn, has been numb since the incident.
Horn has no idea who did it or why, but knows he’s out of $140,000 in damage done to the building, cars, parts and tools.
“Someone used a jerry can and poured gas inside the shop, in the vehicle and then came out and finished off in the office and then lit it out here,” Horn said.
The arsonist covered his face but investigators hope his distinctive clothes and shoes will lead to tips from the public.
“It could be a Carhartt brand pullover or hoodie,” Everett Police Department Lt. Robert Goetz said. “There is some writing along the left sleeve.” “That along with what appear to be Nike, white Nike tennis shoes, the combination might ring a bell to somebody.”
Horn said he’s so upset by what happened, he does not think he’ll return to the location.
