Stolen car recovered from Panther Lake

PANTHER LAKE, Wash. — Mason County deputies responded to a car submerged in Panther Lake on Sunday morning, initially unsure whether or not the car was occupied.

A dive team responded and was able to confirm the recovered car did not have an occupant within.

The Mason County Sheriff’s Department said the vehicle was stolen out of Auburn, Washington.

It was placed in neutral with its windows down and was then rolled down a boat ramp, according to police.
