Husband and wife renters at the Canterbury Court Apartments in Shoreline are moving out of their unit as soon as possible.
“I can’t believe how far it made it, and how much it went through before it finally stopped," the wife said.
“We could have been shot,” the husband said. “Honestly, it could have easily gone through both of us.”
Detectives with the King County Sheriff’s Office are processing the bullet to see if it could have come from a weapon used in a crime, but Sgt. D.B. Gates said there’s no reason to believe that it has.
According to Sgt. Gates, the renter of the unit the bullet is believed to have been fired from is not a convicted felon and is able to legally possess firearms. However, “when contacted by deputies he denied that he had either an intentional or accidental discharge of any firearms.”
Sgt. Gates said it’s not known where the weapon is now.
This is one of the many reasons the renters with the bullet holes throughout their home are now moving.
“It’s not a risk we’re willing to take,” the wife told KIRO 7 on Wednesday.
