3 King County libraries close due to suspected COVID-19 cases

KING COUNTY, Wash. — Three King County libraries had to close down temporarily after suspected cases of COVID-19.

The King County Library System said the Bellevue Library, Kent Library and Valley View in SeaTac will be closed through Aug. 24.

During the closure, crews will thoroughly disinfect the libraries.

According to officials, all services have been contactless and items that were returned have been quarantined for 72 hours.

Curbside pickup appointments are canceled and people are being asked to reschedule their times for Aug. 25 or a later date.

“We do not believe there to be any danger to the public,” the officials said.

The libraries are expected to reopen on Aug. 25 but book drop-off will not be available during that time.
