Briseida Holguin joined the KIRO news team in June 2022. This is her second time in the Evergreen state, Briseida started her on- air career in Yakima, Washington. During her time there she was a bilingual reporter for NBC and Telemundo at KNDO/KNDU. From there she went on to be a reporter in Memphis, TN for WMC Action News 5. Briseida has experience covering major headlines like the mass shooting that happened in September of 2021 at a Kroger grocery store in a suburb of Memphis where 13 people were injured. She’s covered a number of natural disasters from wildfires to snow storms and tornadoes. Briseida was born and raised in Los Angeles, she attended California State University Northridge. After earning her degree, she became a news assistant at ABC7 in Los Angeles, she quickly became a traffic producer there. Briseida is fluent in Spanish and as a Latina she is proud to help raise the voice of the Hispanic community. Briseida is excited to be back in the PNW where she’s surrounded by both the ocean and the mountains.
