Barricaded man in North Seattle emerges after large police response

SEATTLE — Negotiators and SWAT officers responded after barricaded himself inside a home in North Seattle Tuesday morning.

Seattle fire arrived at the location for an aid call but quickly called for police.

Police closed Northeast 85th Street between Aurora and Fremont avenues.

Medics said they were called for a person with a mental health or substance issue.

Video from Chopper 7 showed an armored truck, fire trucks and multiple police cars at the scene.

After about an hour, the man emerged from the home and was checked out by medics.

Police were clearing the scene and opening streets shortly before 11 a.m.
