U.S. border control seizes shipment of Chinese-manufactured firearm parts

SEATTLE — U.S. Customs and Border Control seized a shipment of Chinese-manufactured firearm parts Wednesday from the Port of Seattle, according to a press release.

The shipment reportedly contained two pallets of firearm parts that were flagged for lacking the appropriate permits from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Border control and ATF said the shipment was prohibited under the Arms Export Control Act because they were from China.

Over 56,000 parts worth more than $151,000 were seized, according to a news release.
