DES MOINES, Wash. — A collision Tuesday afternoon had I-5 partially blocked near Des Moines. Around 3:20 p.m., traffic was backed up in the area by roughly 10 miles.
At its peak, traffic was backed up by 12 miles. All lanes on SB I-5 had reopened by 5:00 p.m.

Police are on scene, at southbound I-5 and South 216th Street, investigating the crash.
Washington State Patrol officials say the collision has resulted in serious injury.
Three vehicles were involved in the collision. Two of the vehicles were racing, according to police.
A driver was taken into custody for vehicular assault. One person was seriously injured.
