Seattle's offensive line will be missing key weapon against Cardinals

RENTON, Wash. — The focus for Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll is split between getting ready for the playoffs and closing out their final home game of the season on a winning note.

“We’re ready to finish with a bang here,” said Carroll. “We’ve got to play a really good football game. We’ve had a hard time with the (Arizona) Cardinals in years past and we’ve got to make sure we take care of business.”

As the Seahawks look to care of business in their regular-season finale at CenturyLink Field, left guard J.R. Sweezy is listed as doubtful and not expected to play because of a foot injury.

"It's real uncomfortable,” said Carroll. “He's got some swelling that he's dealing with. It's probably a three to four week recovery for most people and he’s going to do it in two weeks. He will be ready next week."

Carroll said that Seahawks right guard D.J. Fluker made some real progress this week and should be able to go - only if he makes it through his pregame work.

Doug Baldwin is questionable for the game but Carroll is optimistic the Seahawks’ No. 1 wide receiver will play against Arizona.

"He made it through the week,” said Carroll. “He continues to carry stuff that happen to him during the season but he's just been a rock and he's ready to go."

The vocal leader of the Seahawks secondary, Bradley McDougald, was back at practice on Friday but listed as questionable with knee issues that are still lingering.

Seahawks defensive end Dion Jordan is also questionable and free safety Tedric Thompson is a game-time decision, which has nothing to do with his chest.

"He's got an irritation to the back of his ankle, kind of around his Achilles,” said Carroll. “It's not an Achilles injury, but we thought it was for a little bit. He just hasn't quite made it through it to our satisfaction yet, but he's going to try and we'll take a look at him on Sunday."

Carroll said Seahawks first-round draft pick, Rashaad Penny, practiced all week and will be a game-time decision.

"We'll find out and make sure,” said Carroll. “He has a workout on Sunday, also. We'll have a lot of Olympics on the field if you guys want to come out early."
