Starting Friday night, northbound lanes of Interstate 5 between 220th Avenue and Southwest 236th Street Southwest in Mountlake Terrace will be closed at night as work is done on the Lynnwood Link Light Rail Extension, Sound Transit announced Wednesday.
The closures are required so that Sound Transit can remove structural supports for the light rail bridge over I-5.
The closures will occur at the following times:
- 11 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday
- 11 p.m. Saturday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday
- 11 p.m. Sunday to 4 a.m. Monday
The State Route 104 eastbound and westbound on-ramps will close at 9 p.m., and the 236th Street off-ramp to I-5 northbound will close at 11 p.m.
The Mountlake Terrace Flyover north and south ramps will be closed all weekend.
Traffic will be detoured to SR-99 and 56th Avenue West.
Sound Transit suggests that drivers plan ahead and allow extra time to reach their destination.
